Osteopathy / Cranial

Osteopathy is an established, recognised system of diagnosis and treatment that lays its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. It is distinctive in the fact that it recognises much of the pain and disability we suffer stems from the abnormalities in the function of the body structure as well as damage caused to it by disease.
Osteopathy uses many of the diagnostic procedures used in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis. Its main strength however, lies in the unique way the patient is assessed from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint and the manual methods of treatment applied to suit the needs of the individual patient.

Both Marion and Claire use a variety of  gentle manual techniques to promote the body’s own self-healing mechanism. The aim of treatment is to reduce muscle spasm, improve blood and nerve supply and ultimately improve mobility.
Cranial Osteopathy uses very gentle, subtle techniques to encourage the release of body stresses and tensions. It is an extremely gentle treatment using very light touch. You may feel a sensation of warmth during the treatment session and may feel extremely tired afterwards.

Claire specialises in the treatment of babies, children, pregnancy and post pregnancy symptoms. Having gained a Postgraduate diploma in the subject from the Foundation for Pediatric Osteopathy, London

Cranial Osteopathic techniques are almost exclusively used to help ease symptoms such as morning sickness, pelvic or low back pain, Colic, feeding difficulties and more.
